I am fascinated with the history and beauty of old single use or limited use objects or โephemeraโ and giving them a new lease of life in my signature copper foil framed paintings. Old papers provide a fascinating snapshot into the lives of people in the past and are beautiful in their own right. Obsolete typefaces, distressed surfaces and handwritten notes provide perfect unique backdrops in their new life as an integral part of a piece of art.
Imagery from the natural world contrasts beautifully with these industrial pieces and I also frame them in my studio in handmade copper foil frames to add an additional unique touch.
