The Caravan | Post No. 2 | - Removing Old Wood
Before we start on painting, removal of old wood was necessary to get an idea of what structural renovations we needed to make to the framework and chassis. This revealed some rather lovely details that had been hidden, perhaps since the caravan was built. This has given us extra information to work with as we renovate the caravan as true to its original state as possible. Photos are included of the process of removing old wood and also saving some parts to be stripped and refitted.
The Caravan | Post No. 1 | Moving Day (October 2024)
This post covers the transportation of the caravan to our house in readiness for renovation and transformation into a studio/shop for The Badger Sett Studio which I intend to open for visitors from time to time. The renovation is running alongside my working days as a full time artist and so, with the run up to Christmas (my busiest time) and mixed British Northern weather, fitting in caravan time amongst my art work has been challenging!
My Studio Spaces
When I am at shows and events with my stand, one of the most common questions I get asked is how and where I create my work. People expect me to have a specialist studio space somewhere when actually the truth is far less exciting! It seems to be incredibly important for people to know the story behind the art and then, by knowing, they almost become a part of the process. So I thought it would be interesting for my website visitors to find out a little more about The Badger Sett Studio and how I get things made.

Welcome to my Website!
Welcome to The Badger Sett Studio and thank you for visiting my new website. I have been wanting to go full time as an artist for a while and felt that creating my own website where I could showcase and sell my work was a natural step to make. I am hoping to blog relatively regularly on what I get up to with my work, shows I attend in the local area (Lancashire, Cumbria & Yorkshire) and perhaps further afield, and anything else relevant to being an artist.
