The paper used is an original Furness Railway Goods Memo from Barrow in Furness (dated 1915) with original handwritten details. With an ink wash background, the blackbird and berries are hand painted in watercolours and gouache over a pen and pencil sketch. Finally, the painting is framed between 2 pieces of cut glass and finished with copper foil. A handmade wooden block made from reclaimed wood provides a stand for the painting.
