Winter Robin - 1969 British Railways Parcels Label - York
An original unique painting of a robin in a wintery scene using watercolours, inks, gouache and fine pen line work on vintage railway ephemera mounted between two sheets of glass.
The unique card British Railways Parcels label (from 1969) has a partial handwritten reference to York Station. With an ink wash background, the robin is hand painted in watercolours and gouache over a pen and pencil sketch. The painting is framed between 2 pieces of cut glass and finished with copper foil and 60% lead 40% tin solder. Copper rings have been added and British made copper ribbon included for hanging.
This painting would make a lovely gift and is perfect for a collector.
