The unique card British Railways Wagon Label (from 1961) has a printed reference to Rimmed Ingots from Scunthorpe, Appleby Frodingham Steel Company. With an ink wash background, the kingfisher is hand painted in watercolours and gouache over a pen and pencil sketch. The painting is framed between 2 pieces of cut glass and finished with copper foil and 60% lead 40% tin solder. Copper rings have been added and British made copper ribbon included for hanging.
This painting would make a lovely gift and is perfect for a collector.
